Vivah Panchami 2020 will be celebrated in India on Saturday, December 19, 2020. Vivah Panchami has a lot of significance in the Hindu religion. It is believed that Lord Rama and Goddess Sita were married on Vivah Panchami day. Hence, this day is celebrated as the marriage anniversary of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita.

Vivah Panchami falls on the fifth day of Hindu calendar month of Agrahayana (December-January) in the Shukla Paksha. As per legends, Lord Rama visited Janakpur (in Nepal) for the Swayamvar of Goddess Sita broke the bow (Dhanush) of Lord Shiva to get married to Goddess Sita.
The festival of Vivah Panchami is celebrated at all Ram-Sita temples across India and Nepal. However, the most pious and grand celebrations of Vivah Panchami is held in Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Rama, and in Janakpur (Nepal), the birthplace of Goddess Sita.
