The new teaser for Godzilla vs. Kong has been released. The monster movie hits theaters and HBO Max on March 31, and this latest promo gives us a look at some new footage.
The teaser only runs for about a minute, but it manages to squeeze in plenty of action. The new footage includes more of two epic confrontations shown in last month’s full trailer–one at sea, the other in a neon-drenched city. But there are also some quieter moments between Kong and Jia (Kaylee Hottle), the girl from Skull Island who is able to communicate with the huge ape. Check it out below:
Godzilla vs. Kong hits theaters around the world next month and will also be on HBO Max in the US on the same day. It was originally set to be released in May, but following negotiations between distributors Warner and producers Legendary, was brought forward.
The movie stars Millie Bobby Brown, Kyle Chandler, Alexander Skarsgård, Rebecca Hall, Zhang Ziyi, Brian Tyree Henry, and Demián Bichir. It’s directed by Adam Wingard (Death Note, The Guest), and is the fourth movie in MonsterVerse, following Godzilla (2014), Kong: Skull Island (2017), and Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019).
In related news, it was reported last week that Wingard’s next movie will be a reboot of John Woo’s ’90s action favorite Face/Off. Wingard has revealed that the film won’t be a remake, but a “direct sequel” to the original film, which starred Nicolas Cage and John Travolta.
