Director James Wan has announced the title of the upcoming Aquaman sequel. He announced on Instagram that it will be called Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
You can see the newly announced title in the image below, which also features Wan wearing a Cuphead t-shirt as part of a production meeting for the new film.
Jason Momoa is coming back to play Aquaman once again, while Amber Heard is lined up to reprise her role as Mera. Pastrick Wilson is coming back to play Orm again.
2018’s Aquaman was a massive success, bringing in more than $1 billion at the box office. Due in part to this success, Warner Bros. announced a spin-off called The Trench, but it will not get made.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is expected to hit theaters on December 16, 2022. Other upcoming DC movies include The Suicide Squad on August 6, along with The Batman starring Robert Pattinson in March 2022.
